Frequently Asked Questions


  • Is registration required to participate in Family Weekend?
    • Yes! We encourage all families to register so that we can know you are coming! 
  • Is registration free?
    • Registration for Family Weekend is free (outside the Cardinal KickOff Tent Party event, which requires a ticket to be purchased). 
  • What is included in the registration?
    • Registration includes all non-ticketed events during the course of the weekend, including but not limited to Family Memento Photos, social events, masses, etc. 
  • Where do I check in when I arrive on campus?
    • If you are arriving on Friday, October 10th between 12:00pm - 5:00pm, you will check in at the Pryzbyla Center 2nd Floor Lobby. There will be a late check in available during the Frassati Fest from 6:00-7:00pm. If you arriving on Saturday, October 11th, there will be a check in from 9:00 -10:30 am in the Pryzbyla Center 2nd Floor Lobby. 
  • Where can I park during the weekend?
    • Parking will be available free of charge in the following lots: McMahon Parking Lot, O'Boyle Parking Lot, and the University Garage. 
    • Please note that on Saturday, October 11th the parking lot at the DuFour Center will NOT be available. The parking lot will be restricted to those with tailgate passes only. You may park on John McCormick Road (not free) or in one of the lots above. 
  • Are meals provided during the weekend?
    • Meals are not provided during the weekend. There will be time available on each day reserved for families to eat dinner. 
    • You may choose to eat on campus in our dining locations with your student. 
  • Is there a family Mass?
    • Yes! Our official Family Weekend Mass will take place on Sunday, October 12th at 11:00 am. 
    • Throughout the weekend, there are a number of mass times both on campus and at the Basilica of the National Shrine that families are welcome to attend! More mass times can be found on the Family Weekend Schedule of Events. 
  • How can I get updates or notifications during the weekend?
    • The best way to receive updates or notifications while on campus is by downloading the CatholicU app and downloading the Family Weekend 2025 guidebook. We will send updates/notifications as required through the app!
  • Who can I contact with additional questions before or during the event?

    • Once the event has started, if you have questions, please locate a University staff member in a red polo for assistance.
